There are currently seven distributions that support SPARC hardware. Most the distributions support:
- Commercially available CD sets
- Freely available via the net.
- booting from the floppy, CD-ROM, and network
- Mailing lists for questions specific to the distribution
This is, by far the easiest way to install UltraLinux on your computer. |

Red Hat Linux
Red Hat Linux no longer supports SPARC with its current releases. However there is an effort to port the current Red Hat release to the SPARC called the Aurora SPARC Project |

Slackware Linux
Slackware no longer supports SPARC in its current releases. However there is a unofficial version of Slackware for SPARC called SPLACK |
